Textures

I have been getting into adding textures to enhance photos lately. A good texture can take a mediocre photo and transform it into something new and interesting.
One can make their own textures out of all kinds of things but sometimes when you have an idea in your head, you just don’t have the right texture in your own library. There are numerous graphic artists and photographers on the web who have public texture libraries and actually encourage use of there textures for personal and commercial use. Skeletal Mess is a a good example of such artist. His flickr stream is full of amazing textures for public use. Below is an example of one of the textures I used for an HDR photo I shot on a trip to Big Bend National Park.
